Employee Spotlight – Kristin Mooney, Package Engineering Manager

Posted On: August 8, 2019

Why would someone love working here?
The culture at BAF is motivating – our leadership team has built a strong foundation of core company values and consistently follows through on strategic initiatives. I appreciate the autonomy in decision making and that my voice is valued and heard. Also, this area of the country can’t be beat! I moved here from NYC and am living my best life being so close to Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park, the Rocky Mountain range, tons of skiing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, paddle boarding…the list goes on!

What does a day in the life at BAF look like for you?
As a Packaging Engineer, my job is to design and deliver packaged products that represent the Brand, protect the food, and are cost-effective for both the customer and BAF. On a daily basis, I collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Procurement, Sales, Finance and others to launch new products and improve the quality & cost of existing products. I enjoy being able to interface with so many functions and influence decisions that directly impact business results. For me, no two days are the same- I might be working at my desk, in meetings, traveling to plants, co-manufacturers, vendors, or to our Walnut Creek, CA office. I’m also passionate about coaching & developing my team, ensuring they have the support they need to achieve all of the above!

What is your culinary guilty pleasure?
I’m from New York – pizza and Buffalo wings!
