Sr. Business Planner
Summary
The Senior Business Planner will provide leadership and analytical direction for developing business cases to evaluate key strategic initiatives within the Insights and Innovation Department. Engagements include working with cross functional business teams, collecting, and analyzing information/data; constructing financial models and developing frameworks to provide insightful analyses and recommendations; gathering/synthesizing research data from internal and external sources to complete various projects; providing research support and justification for competitive, market, trend, economic and financial analysis; and developing dynamic models for various scenarios including pricing and portfolio strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop the strategic framework to deliver data-driven insights derived from self-created analysis to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritization, and strategy communication in both a clear and concise manner.
2. Analyze industry trends, competitive threats, expansion opportunities, and internal performance and make recommendations on strategic focus. Prepare qualitative/quantitative analyses on diverse topics of varying types/complexity, including project pro forma valuation and financial feasibility studies related to new business ventures.
3. Coordinate information collection across the enterprise and proactively leverage existing BAF assets. Develop strong partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Research & Development to provide insightful financial analytical rigor in the delivery of innovative product concepts. Lead and participate in teams that prepare comprehensive business cases to assess development, expansion, investment, and partnership opportunities in support of short and long-term growth initiatives for Retail and Foodservice business units.
4. Proactively review and refine ongoing metrics and KPIs. Ensure development and maintenance of dashboard that informs executive staff on the progress of critical, strategic issues. Manage financial rigor associated with Innovation Pipeline projects (from Concept Phase to Post Mortem); design models behind established analytic framework required to analyze Innovation Pipeline projects (such as market sizing).
5. Build and enhance the capabilities of the Insights and Innovation Team and larger organization through quality and continuous improvements; in particular, partner with business unit leads (VPs and Managers) to help enhance financial rigor around 5-year strategic planning for products, brands and innovation initiatives.
6. Develop framework for business cases of Innovation pipeline projects; cases will include projected revenue, financial model, 5-year strategic plan, identified resources and requirements needed to execute, and go-to-market strategy. Evaluate and make recommendations on company’s short and long term growth strategies.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Master's degree preferred, and four to ten years related experience and/or training.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Advanced Excel Spreadsheet software and PowerPoint Word Processing software.

§ Management consulting or similar experience (3+ years in strategic planning, business or financial analysis).
