Q. Is this product gluten free?

A.  Some of our products are gluten free.  However, to be sure, please send us an e-mail about the product you are interested in, or call us at 800-722-2084 and we will get back to you with the correct information.

Q. Where can consumers purchase Basic American Foods products?
 

A.  Basic American Foods' products are sold through distributors to restaurants and other organizations where food is prepared.  If a distributor that carries our products happens to have "Cash and Carry" stores or convenience stores, then our products will be there.  In certain geographic areas small pack sizes of our Mashed and Hashbrowns can be found in Costco or Sam’s Club.  But our products are not widely available in traditional retail outlets.

Q. How long will the product hold up on a steamtable?  

A.  The time varies by product, but typically 2 to 4 hours.

Q. Can I freeze this product?  

A.  Freezing is not recommended.  All the Basic American Foods products are so easy to prepare that making product as you need it is much better than making it in advance and freezing it.

Q. Can I reheat this product?

A.  Most all of our products are easily reheated in a microwave. However, we recommend you do this for small portions only. Again, because the Basic American Foods products are so easy to prepare, making product as you need it is much better than making it in advance and then reheating.
