Category Business Analyst
Summary:
The Category Business Analyst will provide both the Retail, Mass, and Club Marketing and Sales Teams with value added expertise, analytics, and support for Category Management both nationally and key retailer contacts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Analysis of multiple data resources (syndicated data, customer sales, internal systems, etc) to provide recommendations of Forecasting, promotion planning and post analysis, product assortment, and shelf placement.
2. Analyze consumer and retailer trends to make recommendations on future marketing initiatives.
3. Key interface for internal PromoAssist program and provide analysis of spending activity.
4. Develop and maintain standardized category and retailer reports for Sr. Management, Sales, and Marketing.
5. Must maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity while embodying the tenets of “What We Stand For” and “The Basic Principles.”
6. Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities
Experience in gathering syndicated data (IRI, A.C. Neilsen, Spectra, etc) for analysis.
Travel is required 10-15% of the time.
