Summary
This position will administer corporate and plant specific policies relating to all phases of human resources activity. The incumbent will administer safety and recognitions programs for the campus and will serve as an integral part of the Idaho Campus Human Resources Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coach and consult with line management/leaders by recommending, initiating, implementing and interpreting policies and processes to ensure that the management of human assets is carried out in a consistent and equitable manner in order to maintain a productive work environment. Oversee facility performance management and corrective action policies and procedures.
2. Administer employee relations including adherence to the collective bargaining agreement and grievance settlement. Participate in labor negotiations planning and bargaining. Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the employee handbook to safeguard the company’s ability to effectively run its operations. Serve as a representative of the Company for community and public relation opportunities.
3. Administer the selection/staffing process and ensure that hiring and promotional activities are in compliance with Company policy and legal requirements. Serve as EEO Coordinator and ensure compliance with Affirmative Action and other applicable laws. Develop and administer local employee orientation.
4. Establish and maintain effective safety and security programs meeting regulatory compliance. Champion the SAFE process within the plant environment by making regular safety observations. Provide technical safety expertise to operations management. Ensure that adequate records are maintained. Implement employee training and development initiatives directed toward meeting strategic, compliance, productivity improvement, and employee development goals.
5. Administer salary and benefit processes as needed. Partner with Plant Management to implement and sustain LEAN manufacturing initiatives and Training Within Industry (TWI) within the facility. This will require maintaining a presence on the plant floor working with operations employees and management.
Must maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity while embodying the tenets of “What We Stand For” and “The Basic Principles.”
Must maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making.
Actively involved in the behavior based safety process within the plant environment. Completes behavior based safety audits throughout each month. Ensures unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors or Science in Business, Human Resources, or related field plus a minimum of two years of experience.
Must have proven skills and abilities in the following areas: Individual and group communications at all levels; interpersonal relations and problem solving; conflict resolution; and issue investigation and resolution. The successful candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks, exercise good judgment, and work independently as well as in teams.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
PHR or SPHR preferred.
Other Qualifications
This position will require 5 - 10% travel.
